We did some computer time today. I showed the kids how to post comments on our blog. We talked about etiquette and also that they have to use their own name. It would not be a bad idea if parents did the same so the kids can appreciate that much more your comments, cheers or congratulations.
We are getting good at golfing that is for sure. Kids are stoked. I told them about the 25th... so we have to look good :) We are running out of room in the classroom. We have about 14 bags and many, many more clubs...
We are math machines ! We are language machines ! I spoke to the kids too about the power of words. We learned yet a new word (self-deprecating). I said that in our classroom we only use positive language towards ourself and one another. I mentioned that if they remembered one thing from Monsieur Beaulieu in 2 years, 20 years or even 50 years from now, is that THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS. Here's one of the best interviews I have watched in several years which talks about epigenetics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-rF0OHY7NI&feature=player_embedded Bruce Lipton has a PhD in developmental biology. You might find this 1h interview intersting.
Let me leave you with this translated and paraphrased quote from entrepreneur extrodinaire Henry Ford. -'If you think you can, you are right. If you think you can't, you are also right.'
Make yourself a good one.
