Here's a quick vidéo about my hometown!

7 things you probably did not need to know about me...
- On my mom’s side of the family, I am the oldest guy among my male cousins but the youngest one on my dad’s side.
- Growing up, I hated everything and anything that had to do with English, things turned around 180 degrees when I had my first Anglophone teacher at college.
- On a fishing trip at Langara in the Queen Charlotte Island, I caught a 35-pound Chinook Salmon. Upon releasing it, a salmon shark snagged it from my hands and severed the fish in two. I was sad to see my trophy ruined but glad that the shark did not mistake my arm for the fish… I was left with the tail end.
- I have never hunted.
- I have been worshiping the Montreal Canadians even since the age of reason. However, I have never set foot in the old forum or even the new Bell center.
- I never had a cavity until I moved to Medicine Hat…
- I own 3 guitars since over two decades now, and only now, I am learning how to play...
On a more serious note bio...
- Teaching runs in my family. My dad taught for 33 years. My late mother taught for 11 years before raising her two beautiful kids :) My sister has taught English as a second language in Québec since 2001... The story repeats itself through uncles, ants and cousins.
- I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Education with a major in English and a minor in Spanish. I studied in various universities like Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, Universidad Critstobal Colon in Veracruz, Mexico. I also enjoyed surfing and attending San Diego State University. I ultimately spent some time at Université Laval trying to find the interest to complete a Masters in Political Sciences but opted out and converted my ambition into a one-year Certificate instead. Believe it or not, my best professors were not the 'famous' ones from the reputable universities but all were at UQAC... as we say in French '... dans les petits pots les meilleurs ongants...'
Places I lived, jobs I have done...
- I lived in several countries for different amount of times doing different things... I did a good chunk of my traveling before attending university where I 'walked the earth' for two years... I helped out after the Hurricane Mitch 1998 in Honduras. I worked constructions in England. I was a dock worker in Langara in the Queen Charlotte Islands B.C., I lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil surfing and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu which I still practice today. I spent some time in all our provinces but N.F. and lived in B.C., Alberta, Québec, N.B. before settling for our Wild Rose Country. I was also a houseman at the Chateau Whistler Resort in B.C., I bar tended at Cosmo night club in Moncton, I worked in Alcan, Québec and was a paper boy too for 3 years growing up :)
Things I enjoy doing and what is new lately...
- I enjoy sports. If you visited my classroom you figured out I am a hockey buff. I played up to the LJMHQ and turned down a 100$ million contract to teach instead:)
- I enjoy MMA. I am actually a practitioner of this fairly new sport. I have started submitting people back in 2005...
- I enjoy teaching and being able to impart not only some obligated curriculum but also some life knowledge to our youth and future of tomorrow.
- I enjoy magic, I am trying to focus on card and coin magic... awesome to watch but harder to learn and master. All with time though...
- I enjoy traveling, I try to visit a new country every year.
- I enjoy my two mischievous Yorkie Terriers.
- ... the good old guitar or guitarS... I keep buying new guitars to entice me to practice more but man oh man... learning is slow, but it is coming along... all in time...
- Lately... health...
- I have met some ageless life altering people who got me thinking and opened my eyes on what we put on and into our bodies and the daily race we are in. I was very much born in the 'you will die before your parents generation'. So lately, I am trying to think for myself more and get my hands on some books and dvds that may not be conventional to most or mainstream...
- I guess my new resolution is learning about nutrition and spending more time in my kitchen :) I have put some stuff in the nutrition section that may or may not interest you. Feel free to take a gander and I am always open to visit about hockey and my new passion... so come in and chat anytime.
