Enjoy today's slideshow and make yourself a fantastic weekend.
Ton prof, signing out!
Today was Fluffy day or as we say in French, le jour du toutou. As you can see on today's slideshows, we had all kinds of toutous today. Some teeny-weeny ones and some gargantuan ones. Spirit week ends as the new and last June calendar comes out. It is a heavy one indeed. Make sure parents you get your digital copy so you don't miss some fun events. I hope the parents present at the volunteer appreciation tea enjoyed the treats and service. What a week! Enjoy today's slideshow and make yourself a fantastic weekend. Ton prof, signing out!

Well, today, we had a stranger walked in our classroom!!! NOT, Laird our good friend came back from his trip around the world and we were all happy to see him back. You can see the kids here giving him a big group hug during his morning 2-minute time slot... Ahhhhhhhhhhh so cute... (we actually let talk for more than 2 minutes this time :) Twin day... Spirit Week goes on and today was yet another great display by the kids who dressed similar to their friends or teachers. We had several grade 4 & 5 boys and girl display their good looks and dressing garments!!! Tomorrow is Fluffy Friday... make sure you favorite stuffy tags along for the day. No size restriction, as long as it fits on the bus :) The weather is not cooperating much for our baseball games but we are hard core, right les enfants? As every year, I would like to send an invitation to parents to come and play with us in the month of June. Now, starting next week, on Thursdays and Fridays we will be outside (weather permitting) during the last period of the day from 2h30 to 3h00. Please feel free to come and join us. We always have a lot of fun. You'll even get to chew on and spit out some sunflower seeds, just like the pros. I will send a formal invite to all the parents via our e-mail group. Thanks again parents for the fruit bowl. Very nicely presented as well. You must have your chef ticket??? Well done les amis... well done! Feast your eyes on today's picture. Lots of time went into most of the hairdos. Rock on les enfants (double clap!!). It is always fun to see the kids first thing in the morning on spirit days. Today, we were served! We always have good participation and kids come up with very cool design and ideas (read parents spending hours fixing their kids hair). As for me, I go the quick way and buy 'des perruques'. As I am writing a few lines here... Actually, that is what I do, whenever I get inspired during the day and have time, I sit down and write a bit. So, as I am writing this, kids are doing the math pyramid competition. Some are eliminated, some are waiting for their next adversary and some are battling for the sole golden place at the top of the pyramid. Here is the beauty, kids are all speaking French, they are using their time well, catching up on lessons, organizing or reading while waiting for the next round. We really have solid class dynamics and we are effective. I am really going to miss you les enfants once the year comes to a close. Heck, I miss you already... and try to enjoy every bit of it of our time left together. Did the kids ever crack me up today... commenting on my 'perruques' and just being them. Whatever might be happening in my life I know I can count on them for laughter and bring up my spirit. There is no better medicine to me than hanging out with a fabulous bunch of kids who make you laugh. Thank you, thank you Mme. Gerl et Mme. Crowley for the scrumptious lunch today. They treated teachers with some spicy taco soup and a vegetarian mushroom one. Oh my goodeeeenessssssssssss. Talk about having seconds... the cake... ouhhhhhhhhhhh magic!!! Merci 1000 fois. Até logo, ton prof, signing out! Well, here are our Spelling Bee winners!!! Chloe took it in grade 4. After a long and arduous battle in grade 5, Kaylea got one over his peers and won the medal! Congratulations les enfants! You rock! A big hand to all the other kids who tried their best and gave good competition to our winners. Well done all around (double clap!). Tomorrow, as part of our spirit week, we have Wacky hair day tomorrow! Oui Monsieur, mañana, I shall be ready, what about you les enfants? Thursday is twin and triplet day while we shall finish off the week with Fluffy Friday where kids will bring their favorite teddy bear :) Ahhhhhhhhh, so much fun! Notice on our homework page that Alberta's best magician will be in our classroom on June 20th from 9h45 'till recess. He even offered to teach the kids a trick after his little performance. If you are so incline parents, you are welcome to come and partake in this magic session. Maybe we can ask him to saw a kid or two in equal pieces and put them back together... what do you say les enfants!?! Trevor makes the kids's eyes almost go out of their sockets every year with his entertaining magic and mentalism. If you have birthday parties, corporate gathering or just want some mega entertainment, you should give him a call. Hasta mañana, ton prof singing out! Yes, that is the kids and I twisting it at lunch... You can see Paige too on the left, our star of the week. She's featured on our home page, go see why she got the star this week. We almost had to 'twist' (pun intended) Erin's arm so she would join us... she finally did and watch out! She can bust a move!!! Yes, another Monday in the books. How many Mondays are left? Not sure but certainly less than more... It seems like during the year at times, time stood still did it not? The snow, the clouds... Now, we are getting closer to the finish line and it seems like everything is accelerating. People have projects, the sun makes us go outside and do more things. Exciting times and that is how we like it. This week is filled with Spirit days and activities. Parents are treating us teachers with different goodies etc. Merci merci parents! I had some lemonade this morning and felt like I was on a beach somewhere in Mejico :) Well, so what did we do today. On my goodeeeeeenesssssssssss! I feel like we were in a race all day. After our Assembly we got warmed up with our Spelling Bee and did the first round quiz. Tomorrow is the big day for the winners. We worked on the netbooks. Our third story installment is almost done. Man we rock! We Senteoed it up again and finished our novel stories with quizzes that kids dominated. Senteo is the cat's meow isn't it les enfants? Good for the environment too... Well, on a hockey note, all our Canadian teams are eliminated. My hockey pools are doing so so but I will pull through. I picked with my head and less with my heart this year which is usually my demise. Who's going to take it this year? Why not the Sharks, they are yet to win it and big Joe could use it... That is all for now, thank you parents again for treats, keep them coming. Sayonara, ton prof, signing out! We so rock, do we not les enfants!?! I know, I know, rhetorical question... We had a jam packed day filled with fun and learning. We Senteoed it up in the morning and got the science quiz done. Kids just dominated. Well done les amis, well done (double clap!!). Mme. Franz had a creative potato painting activity. We had quite a bit of fun with it. Let your mind go and create as she says! A big shout out to Nicholas who came back to school even if he was a bit under the weather. A true warrior. You are our favorite M.C. Nick and we all love to have you around!!! Make a good weekend tout le monde! Enjoy the slideshow! P.s. Thank you parents for the scrumptious salad bar feast!!! Ton prof signing out! We are sad a bit... yes Mlle. Karine will be going back to her hometown in Quebec in no longer than three weeks now. We will miss her for sure. As I always say, it is key to have various native like fluency people come in and interact with the kids. Students benefit tremendously. Kids get used to my accent, vocabulary, awesome jokes :) etc. so having a new voice every now and then keeps them that much more on their toes. We can see Ryoma et Ethan here playing it up in Mlle. Karine's activity. It was a good one. Merci Mlle. Karine (double clap!) We had not been in the gym for so long now. The weather had been cooperating. By the way, we played with a harder softball yesterday and the kids loved it. They were all saying that we should have played with a 'real' softball way sooner! They are funny. So, today in the gym, we played a bit of everything. Some 'mort subite', some dodge ball, some 'capture the flag' and called it a day. We had intense moments especially during the infamous garçon contre fille match ups!!! Mme. Franz will be coming in tomorrow les amis. #1 Dress up or down... remember, make sure you can have an oopsie or two moments. I do have older clothes here though but you might not like them as much as yours. Size, colors, logos and smell can be questionable if you get my meaning... Make sure you bring your long sliced up potato. Mme. Franz charges 200$ per potato so bring your own:) It is a BYOP art classes tomorrow! On this, make yourselves a great one. Ton prof, signing out! P.s. Encore bonne fête Ethan!!! Today, we had to pause our morning routine. Kaylea was one of the two people to give us a rundown of her evening yesterday all with proper French and grammar. At one point, I had to stop her and talk to the class. Kaylea had just used three different synonyms to talk about the floor. All worked (sol, terre, plancher) but one was more precise. I reminded the kids that when you start learning a new language you might know one of these... now they are juggling synonyms and refining their vocab. It was nice to check in about that and I think it automatically made them proud of themselves. It did les enfants didn't it! Monsieur Beaulieu is proud of all of you, we work hard, play hard and it is paying off. One needs to stop sometimes and look back to see where we came from. Keep up the majestic work les amis!!! We did some math too today, oh the 4s are exited for the last quiz. It will come soon enough les enfants, you do not have to worry. Who's been on Quizlet already for our last vocab quiz? Get ready too, Friday, before Mme. Franz comes in and we paint the whole classroom multicolor with our upcoming activity... NOT! We have to be a bit careful with that paint so bring clothes that you can afford to have one or two oopsies on :) Oh... yes Friday we will have our science quiz with are usual Senteo friend. If you have worked hard on the classroom activities and participated you will ace this one no doubt. Ton prof, signing out! Hola, well, easy come, easy go! Yes I know, today was Tuesday but felt like Monday for sure. We started off the day with an Assembly where we had to give the star of the week to Ethan. He came back to school last week even though he was still recovering from a fairly serious accident. Way to be Ethan, you're as tough as they come!!! We went through our Math quiz and most kids were really proud of their results. Grade 5 are on the reviewing last stretch home while the 4s are working on their last 2D and 3D chapters. Make sure you correct ALL your mistakes les amis and get it signed by your parents for tomorrow. Kids decided that we were ready to move on to a real softball and leave the foam ball behind... I think we are doing pretty well too and this would be a natural progression. Mañana les enfants... and yes I promise I will bring more sun flower seeds! We have our science quiz slated this week as well and I finished the last vocab quiz over the weekend. Find it on Quizlet under Francais et Vocab 121 a 140. It shall go down next week. This is the last one les amis, make it count/! Also, there is time for song request. Think hard, make sure it is a good one (language...) and then submit it for consideration. Good start of the week les amis, see you tomorrow! Ton prof, signing out! P.s. : You can see Andre here working hard on our préfixes et suffixes exercise! |
