ohhhh ohhhhh ohhhh ohhhh Just like a waving flag, just like a waving flag... This was our latest song along with our 3rd vocab quiz. Pretty catchy one and kids did well with it. We can see Erin here, in the zone she is, way to be Erin! She is not scared to use those headphones and find a quiet place to get some work done. We reviewed our math for tomorrow. We corrected our practice quizzes, we are ready. We pretty much finished our art activity too from last week. Looking good les amis, looking good!!! We will proudly post them up on our 'babillards'. Some of the kids in our classroom worked on a bigger version of the snowman we had done a few days ago. Trying to set some records. We also did some indoor soccer again today. The kids got their positions down and player rotations. We are also a fabulous example of sportmanship as we help up fallen players and high five the other team up after games!!! Nice to see les amis, nice to see! Got to take care of you adversaries right les amis!?! Otherwise, who are you going to play with? See you tomorrow ! Hola ! I trust everybody had a fun and restfull weekend. For some reason... my pups were restless... they could not sleep and wanted to play... and fight... and eat... and go bark outside... etc. So I feel like I have not slept a wink all weekend... but I love them anyways!! Today, we came in and looks like the plants are transitionning from the shock period to the let's grow like crazy period... Colors are starting to change back to something healthier looking. I just can't wait to have a jungle in our 'coin de pousse' corner! Our contraption has multi-purposes too... oui oui! We can see Kaylea here who had wet shoes in the morning, she put them in the light for a few hours and voilà, all dry! We corrected and reviewed our math. We'll have a practice quiz tomorrow and then see if we're ready for the big one on Wednesday. Third and most likely last math quiz for this term. We will probably go with a longer chapter and module after, perhaps fractions or multiplication... we'll see. Congrats to Lily as well for being our 'étoile de la semaine'! Sayonara! Piscine! Our 'natation' classes are winding down. Next Friday, oubliez pas vos costumes de bain les amis! Can you guess who's the secret stealthy swimmer in the middle? Here's a clue... nahhhhh... no clue for you :) We did some divisions again. We are looking at a quick shortcut and if we are not sure with the shortcut we can break it down with the best method ever, right les amis? Soon, we'll touch on higher multiplications and we'll turn ourselves into Jedi Masters!!! We did a pretty cool art project today too. A bit messy but cool nonetheless. Agreed, we were quite inspired by the grade 2 class and we worked on a tougher version of it. I think the final product is quite beautiful. You are naturals les amis!!! Mr. Beaulieu won't be scared to whip out the 'pinceaux' et la 'peinture'!!! Mr. Beaulieu has a pretty cool idea too, like THE best art activity ever thought of!!! No word of a lie... but we have to wait for spring for it. It can be the messiest but a ton of fun! Make a good weekend les amis! Bonjour bonjour ! We finished the day with a 20 minute session of dodge ball with the grade 2 class. It was a nice to finish it off that way after lots and lots of hardwork. You did a fabulous job les amis today. Mr. Beaulieu is proud of you! We were introducted to strategies to complete long division and quick short divisions. We'll get the details ironed out as we delve more into it. The kids impressed Mr. Beaulieu with great behavior while I was out of the classroom for a short time. We had Mlle. Karine et Mme. Geneviere filling in and they said they said the kids were exceptional! C'est beau les amis!!! (double clap). We started the good copy for our stories, we worked on our Prezi project and almost finished our chap. 3 in math. The 5s are done with their Module 8. I feel a quiz coming up les amis do you??? You're ready though, I know you'll do well. So parents, do come visit our 'coin de pousse'. We are a proud of it for sure. I can't wait when all the cage is filled up. We'll have our own private little jungle. Mañana ! Kids were a little over the top today with the rap song... they are really really anxious to perform... You can see Kirstopher et Kaelix here on the window seal giving us a preview of their rap piece.... The day just flew right by. Days always go fast but especially when I am on supervision. The ghost stuck in our Smartboard as the kids like to say let us use it. It's been working on and off lately. Funny at times, frustrating at others.... We worked hard in F.L.A. today. We reviewed what we had learned so far as far as verbs, nouns and adjectives go. We touched as well on how to find the subject, which is really key in French with the feminine and masculine genders. We went over our dictee. Some answers were so good that M. Beaulieu fainted! Merci les amis to air me out once I came to! We played some more soccer today. Ouhhhhhhh some kids had not corrected their mistakes on their last quiz they handed in so they had to finish that before jumping in. We leanred how to position and rotate with substitutes. We still have work to do with that but we are smart. We'll have it down by tomorrow right les amis!?!igure. A demain les amis ! p.s. M. Beaulieu will put in the plants after school! Look forward to a pretty cool 'coin de pousse picutre tomorrow' ! Much neige today right les amis! Are we the classroom who built the biggest snowman or what? The whole school was super excited with our first solid snowfall. I asked the kids during this morning 'assemblé' who would build the biggest snowman... they all said the same thing... - 'us' ! So, judging by the photo our classroom did not do too bad. We'll see if we can add to it tomorrow. We also collected 718 pounds of food!!! Monsieur Kennedy was a sad camper today... wearing the Flames jersey was tough on him :) We played some indoors soccer today. We got to use the walls as extra players and we tried hard not to give the opposing team a penalty shot by using our arms with the soccer ball. We'll be learning some soccer rules and adding some strategies as we go along here for the next few weeks. We also had a 180 second match where we had the whole class play their teacher.... ouhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... Evan hit the post, James got the ball rolling on the goal line.... ouffff it was a close call. Plus, Ethan was a stud between the pipes and stopped my 2 penalty shots. Dawson played some awesome D and they stave off the my French attempts at scoring... Solid match les amis !!! (double clap) Kids did very well overall with their math quiz, please sign them parents and congratulate your kid. Make sure to correct your mistakes and bring your quizzes back tomorrow les amis!!! A demain, avec plus de neige s'il-vous-plait!!! Hola ! Today we had some French Immersion G8 students from St-Mary come in and lend a hand. We can see Quinn here standing tall while imparting some knowledge. We're not giving the fish... right Quinn!?! It was very fun to see my old students... Every year the kids in my class are the same age but I keep adding candles on my birthday cake... They are the future of tomorrow and as such they are turning into beautiful and handsome young adults already... time flies les amis. Have some fun now and every day, life is short!!! We had 'natation' today. The trainers said we have one of the best behaved classroom but... not today :( They said it was one of those days... Let's blame it on the grade 8s... Well make sure we keep our 'best behaved class status' next time right les amis!?! For our listening comprehension today M. Beaulieu made some homemade guacamole with everything from his garden but the lime and.... avocados of course. We used a big cucumber as chips to shovel up that green stuff! I added one more hot pepper than last time as the kids said my salsa last time was way too mild... It had a little more kick to it did it not les amis!?! Next week, during our next listening comprehension epi, we'll see if we can get a student or two to whip up a little something something for us. We had lots of volunteers. I'll send an e-mail to parents soon so we can better coordinate this. Meanwhile, the weekend is here so make yourselves a good one ! We received the official stamp of approval from the main custodian in central office to proceed with our TG on Tuesday. We are now officially on!!! We also received our missing extra special funky extension piece this morning. As you can see, we are shinning now !!! The blue spectrum light is so soothing. We like it!!! I'll bring back the plants on Monday and get started then. Are they ever ready to be transferted to the TG!!! Big time ready. I showed some breakdancing moves/pop in during phys. ed. to the kids today. The goal is to have them include some moves in their rap song presentation... Oui ou non les amis? Some kids already had some pretty hip ones so we had lots of fun with that. I wish I could post some quick videos on the blog, there were some magic moments! I am half way through marking the math quizzes. So far so great ! Kids have to get their PASSE COMPOSE signed and corrected tonight. Kids seem also to like our new way to add from left to right. We shall explore yet one more way tommorrow and see what sticks... We go swimming tomorrow les amis, oubliez pas vos choses... C'est deja vendredi! Oui Monsieur !!! Mañana! Epic... we had the Police come in and visit with the kids about the EPIC program. Always entertaining lessons... We even had the 911 phone lady... I forget her actual title and we learnt what happens when we call 911. We touched on the new way to add in G4 and we got the G5 to tag along for that lesson too. A refresher... We'll learn three ways to add this year and then the kids will use whatever they are more comfortable with. The same will happen with multiplications and long divisions. Ohh... the votes... Cassandra will be our only representative in our classroom. C'est beau Cassandra (double clap)!! We continued our social project today. Kids have to hand in 'brouillons' before adding text to their presentation. Those periods are always busy busy. We can see James here pondering (good word) over his writting... Sidenote, which I am sure all parents are excited about, the NHL have come up with a interesting offer for the NHLPA so we might have a season after all... fingers crossed! Sayonara! |
