Les enfants ont eu beaucoup de plaisir avec leurs projects de science! It was go go go as kids rotated from project to project trying to figure out their peers devices and get some treats! M. Marcotte's class came to visit and play with ours and then we scurried over to theirs and we deciphered the undecipherable :) Now, the other French Immersion classes will come and experience the projects. It is kind of like a mini science fair. Expect a slideshow about it soon.
We are practically done our first English novels and so comes our Senteo quiz. Fun!!! We have also rocked our Pattern math chapter and so comes the quiz next week. We started our prequiz today and shall finish it tomorrow. What unit is next... I am debating. The long, arduous but fun fraction or our measuring unit... ouhhhhhhhh I like fractions and I have some mega props, manipulative and activities... we'll see. What do you think les enfants? Next skating date is December 17th! Oui Monsieur! Hope to see several parents again. We always need help to tie skates and bring Tim bits :) Ton prof, signing out! Today, we enjoyed Opera in the gym during the first segment of the morning. They were pretty funny actually. I like accents and they did several among the four performers. They had 25 plus costumes and over 12 characters. Fun fun fun!! We are rocking our Math pattern unit and after our revision and prequiz we shall have our official quiz around the middle of next week. Our E.L.A. is going ahead full force too and we shall finish our Organisation unit in a couple weeks and move on to Voice unit which is one of my favorites hands down. We had some kids present their Lost writing prompts from our novel activities and also their poems. We had some fun with that. Skating was fun and I hope you enjoyed the slideshow. We had three classes there and it was perfect. Thank you to the parents who showed up and helped out with skates etc. Next time, make sure you do not forget your Montreal Canadian jerseys... Enjoy the decent weather as the cold returns soon... oh my goodenesssss! Another one of my students is in Mexico making up all jealous... Ton prof, signing out! As the kids were pointing it out to me this morning, there are just a tad under 4 weeks before Noel! Indeed, ça va vite! I feel I was getting my classroom ready last week and Blam... we are on the last stretch for the Christmas holiday. We are going skating tomorrow les enfants for the first time so make sure you bring your gear. Karli is our star of the week so please visit our main page to find out why. We also received our classroom picture today. Don't we look good les enfants? You guys all look sharp and smart! Speaking of looks, Kai came in today and something was different about him. I could not pinpoint what it was and so I started guessing. No dice so we got some kids involved. I thought he might have grown a few inches this weekend but it was not that. Karli said that he had grown a freckle:) Kai said no, it wasn't that either. Cassidy figured he had longer socks but wrong again said Kai. After some deliberation, we finally figured it out. A new hairdo! You are rocking that do Kai and thanks for being a good sport. More power to you my young Skywalker! We have some senteo quizes coming up les enfants for your novels. Have you guys ever used the clickers? It is fun! Make sure you read up for tomorrow. Ton prof, signing out! Today... ouuuuhhhhh my goodenesss.... we had the privilege of having Dr. Henderson (Superintendent) and Mme. Neigum (our beloved principal) as guests for 15 minutes this afternoon. I showed the kids Les pyramides de la multiplication game this morning to work on our math facts in a more interactive way. The kids showcased their skills again in the afternoon with our guests. Dr. Henderson was no joke, he had is game face on :) Jade was able to get the best of him by default, it still counts Jade, still counts... C'est beau Jade (double clap!). Then, Mme. Neigum got passed the first round but faced off with a smart Alex... (get It les enfants?). Finally, Karen went all the way and squared off with Phoenix from the consolation pyramid and won the #1 for today. Incroyable Karen (double clap!). Thank you to our two guests, perhaps (good word right les enfants!) they can come back at the end of the year when we are Jedi Masters at it and see how they fare then? On a diffrent note, we played some fierce basketball today with 3 chasseurs and then some mort subite. Tell your parents about it les enfants. DJ B. was back in the house too today and scores of young Padawans showed up in the gym for the second half. The music was blaring and we were having fun but the equipment failed. We literally burnt the speakers... First, the dump is burning now our ghetto blaster speakers! It never rains it pours :) Make yourselves a fun weekend les enfants! Ton prof, signing out! Well, what does this picture tell you? It screams oh my goodennnnnnessssss we are not quite done our science project for M. Marcotte's class!!! We better hurry up and use our recesses to catch up on the dawdling we have been doing... We talked about report cards today. I wrote to one student that she was now cooking with gas and she asked me what it meant. Before I could answer another kid said that it meant she had very bad gas... we all laughed. Then, in M. Marcotte's class, a student got an unfriendly whiff of some organic odor... the kid asked if someone farted. Another student shouted out that if you smelt it you dealt it... I thought that was a good one but before we could move on another kid retorted that if you do the rhyme you did the crime... :) Oh my goodenesss... where else can I hear stuff like this? Thank you les enfants for being you, makes me happy to go to work everyday. I never know what you are going to make me laugh with. On a more serious note... M.Beaulieu had to dish out tough love during physical education. Seems like report cards are a thing of the past and Christmas is around the corner... excitement in the air... Well, our class slowly forfeited their gym period by having 5 minutes subtracted every time they were not being respectful of our 3 classroom expectations... So, during gym, we went inward into deep meditation to see what we could do different. I am sure tomorrow will be much improved. Tomorrow is another day les enfants, let's make it a good one. Ton prof, singing out! Well, Monsieur Thompson (school custodian) will be retiring at the end of this month and so the school is doing various things for him. One of them is having every teacher do a little something something for a scrapbook. I asked if there was an artist extraordinaire who could draw Mister T. and Karen was chosen. She did a fantastic job, check out her draft on today's picture. I also asked the kids to come up with things that he could do during his retirement so I would add that to the back of the drawing. Here are some of the ideas that made the cut... -When you retire you should become an Italian actor and go on Broadway! -Karli -Buy a pink unicorn and teach it how to speak Spanish. -Cassidy -Get some shades and go to Vegas. Amelia -Move to Hawaii, lean to surf and play the ukulele. -Jade -Grow out your sideburns…-Ben Ahhhhh kids are funny aren't they! Thanks les enfants for making my day everyday. Rock on! Ton prof, signing out! Well, well, well... M.Beaulieu forgot his smartphone cable again... two days in a row... oh my goodenesssssss... Little shame on you M.Beaulieu (no double clap for you) I shall post the picture up as soon as I get home. Today is a good one, you don't want to miss it! Alex came back from Mexico and brought back some cool postcards and memorabilia you could say and presented them to the classroom today. Yesterday, he gave us a break down of his trip we sounded quite fun. Don't we all wish that we were there right now!?! Big time!!! Alex brought me a little something something which was a total fit with my choice of shirt today... We are working hard academically and now we will have two posses of 3 students to work on our classroom door decoration. The whole school is participating and so I got the kids to write me a quick paragraph and tell me/us why the class should pick them to represent us. This is serious business after all :) Please go visit our main page to see why Mia is our star this week. She deserves it. You're rocking that hair style to Mia, way to be!!! That is all for now. Ton prof, signing out! Today, kids were excited as the report cards were going home. Make sure you review them with your folks les enfants and talk about all the great things you do at school. Mondays are always super busy. We kind of like it because it goes fast... first bell goes, you turn around and Shazam... it is time to go home. Amelia today forgot her ruler at home so she used the class meter as she had forgotten hers at home. We all had a good chuckle! Good one Amelia (double clap)! We are relentless with our math and same goes for English. Kids always have some projects on the go and I am proud to say that they don't need my guidance all the time to transition from one to the other which makes me very proud of them. Talk about maturity les amis!!! Way to be my young Padawans, keep it up! Skating is coming up! Oui Monsieur, I can't wait. Why such enthusiasm you may ask. Well, I get to wear my jerseys!!! Ton prof, signing out! |
