Well, last full day together... lots of excitement for the kids and myself but also some sadness on my part as I am letting go a fabulous bunch of kids. I will miss our class dynamics but will keep only good memories like those immortalize on the Year-end video 2010-11 see here. We also had the visit of one of our sponsors Mme. McKinley from Cocoloco on 2nd street. She brought her daughter Gabriel and also her two domesticated pigeons that they saved from certain death a few years back. Kids were meszmerised and got to pet them. You can see on the picture how stocked Wildon was :) Well, it was our last Friday together. We are really nearing the end and I miss the kids already... we have such a good class and dynamics mais c'est la vie... Our class got to fire off some doge balls to the staff and take no prisoners!!! It was fun, even M. Dumanowski joined in! Most kids were dressed for the Saint-Jean Baptiste and also the choir did very well at church today !!! Have a fun and restful weekend les amis!!! Le club de course ! Well, we had some kids who ran their little hearts out. Over 20 km... oui Monsieur ! The grade 4/5 was well represented, thank you les amis ! Also, today we finished the reading assessment and I am very proud of our efforts in the classroom coupled with the French monitor & Mme. Genevieve and of course, the reading and practice at home that the kids did as their levels did improve. For some, we moved up as much as a couple reading years !! Also, it was this afternoon that we held the Appreciation Tea. Thank you times a 100 for the parents that took their time and helped us out throughout the year. For me, the Tropical fun day was definitely the apex and truly shows how much parents did this year! Way to be parents!!! Ouffff, mucho sun !!! Merci, Merci, Merci parent s for putting up this great day. It was fun and entertaining. The kids had a blast and all the events were fun !!! One word, B E A Utiful !!! We can see Jennifer here being tubed up and also drenched since she could not escape mouhahahahaha. We also had a great picnic outside and took off for our interpretive Social Science outing. If kids are not pooped after this... Tomorrow is appreciation Tea at 2h for the parents, hope to you lots of you there. Splash... cannon ball !!! The L.C. was great. Kids had to choose from the endless waterslide, the wave pool, the leaking mushroom or the treacherous whirlpool, oh and yes... the concrete platform... it was madness!!! It was a lot of fun and the 2 hours flew right by... I can assure you that the afternoon was much more tamed... High five to Jamie who faced his fears and busted a pirouette/corkscrew 360 off of the jungle rope! Way to be Jamie ! Busy day indeed today ! We had lots going on starting with the Assembly where Shae-Lynn took the star of the week for her always stealthiness and good display of right choices! Way to be Shae-Lynn. Shae-Lynn also took one for the team this afternoon during P.E. has she hurt her wrist trying to beat Max to the ball ! They did win over him as Max was simply on fire and conceded the last game! We also had the visit of Medicine Hat's best magician Monsieur Trevor Moore who came in and displayed his great sleights and entertaining skills. Mr. Moore was also gracious enough to autograph not one but two cards for the kids! Thank you Mr. Moore for visiting us, the kids will remember your visit for a very long time, you made all our day! And, we cannot forget today's greatest gesture! Mademoiselle Rivard gave several inches of her beautiful hair towads the Beautiful Lengths cancer cause. Thank you Olivia, that is very very humble of you! Not only you did a great gesture but you look even prettier with your new do!!! For fathers day... we prepped... a cool card with funky ties... (reminiscent of someone we see know...) and also a cool acrostiche in English and some in French and some wrote both languages in their cards, way to be!!! You will make happy dads!!! They deserve it ! The 5s had their science PATs... Mr. Beaulieu assessed the reading levels of most of the kids... we are rock and rolling oui Monsieur !!! No more hockey though... I guess we will have to read more French right les amis??? or right Willy!!??!! Have a fun and restful weekend les amis. This will be our last full week together ! Let's make it even greater than usual !!! Today nothing happened...NOT ! We were busy doing a whole bunch of stuff. We sang happy brithday to Olivia first thing in the morning before coming in the school and got a small blush on her young 10 year old face. We wrote, we presented, we ran, we batted, we wrote some more and we cried too... yes we cried because the Canucks lost... we talked about it and we could not help ourselves... We can see Sierra and Jamie here making sure they are not forgetting to write a French compliment to all their friends and peers. Those compliments will go home at the end of the year with the report cards. Hopefully, they will keep them forever and cherish them when they read them 40 years from now :) Mother nature was not to mean on us and we got to hit some balls and vibrate our little hands right out !!! It was fun, there were different speeds and ball sizes and kids all had several goes at it. We also played mini golf and ran back just in time for the hot lunches !! Perfect planning, c'est beau M. Beaulieu :) Let us cheer for our Canucks tonight, they will need it. Tonight has to be the night, there is no tomorrow... none... Go Canucks Go!!! |
