Merci Nick for the fantastic Bruschetta! It was scrumptious!! Kids enjoyed some during D.E.A.R. . Nicholas was instructed to only share some with the quite students. Needless to say, we had one of the best D.E.A.R ever! Some got seconds and as you can see, Ethan got to finish the liquid portion... mucho salty though but he was prepared for it. We had the talent show too today. Thank you to all the parents who made it and came to cheer on the kids. I am sure we will catch some of these kids on Canadian idol in the future! The weekend is here and with the floods happening I wish all of you to be safe and secure with your families. That is in times like these that the sense of community resurfaces the most. We said our goodbyes to both Ethans as they left today. We will miss you fellows! Be safe, have fun and keep reading over the summer!!! Ton prof, signing out! |

Today we indulged a bit during D.E.A.R. Oui Monsieur ! Our lunch monitors and milk distributors got rewarded with a tasty smoothie. Merci les enfants for your hard work and patience at lunch working with kids and making sure things roll smoothie, I mean smoothly... :) Oh my goodenesssssssssssss... have you ever gone somewhere and came back to find you house, car, desk or in this instance computer to be all messed up? Well, they had some technicality issues yesterday and 'tried' to fix it... it was fun to fix it all up today... We have the master magician Trevor Moore coming tomorrow morning so get your magic hat on les enfants!!! Parents, you are welcome to come and enjoy the mini show too! I'll try to get Trevor to make your money disappear and make it reappear in my wallet :) He is that good! Don't miss the show. We had our last art class with Mme. Franz! Merci Mme. Franz! Please note that tomorrow Monsieur Walters will fill in for me as I have my last knee follow up in Banff. Therefore, no blog for tomorrow and we'll see you here back on Wednesday. Don't forget your bathing suits les enfants!!! Yes, as you can see on today's picture, we had our classroom perform in the gym. They were fantabulous as always. Talentfull little (but growing like crazy) bunch they are. I keep telling them that they have it all going for them and today was just another example of their potential. I will admit, I woke up a bit sad today, we literally have only one full week left together... I am happy just like the kids that summer is coming around but also sad that I most likely will not see them again for a while. I will keep the website alive though so they will be able to touch base and send me pictures! We got both our white sheets, merci Mme. Tietz et Mme. Gerl! What color Freeze do you like best! A promise is a promise!!! We have Track & Field tomorrow and we hope to see several parents there to cheer the kids on and buy us stuff from the canteen :) Just kidding, nevermind the cheering part mouhahahaha! See you on the field tomorrow! Ton prof, signing out! Hola, comment ca va? Today, we got stuff done! Oui Monsieur! Kids decided to get rid of our last math quiz. Thursday was too far away... The 5s took it too even though it was only for grade 4s. Well, we can only expect no less than a 100% for the 5s right les enfants!?! We are almost done correcting our daily E.L.A. grammar too. Man, we are on THE ball!! We had Lauren and Amanda come in the afternoon to talk about various things going on at the library this summer. You can see them on today's picture. Do notice Laird waving and saying hi there in the right corner! Reading is huge and I am trying to make sure that kids have options and ideas when it comes to reading throughout the summer break. Reading is so underestimated in my view when it comes to second language! It will get you places. Places like the videos Lauren and Amanda showed us. Ouhhh I am pumped up to travel this summer. It does get you fired up watching videos like this does it not les enfants!?! Where are You traveling this summer? We have a quick music presentation tomorrow afternoon on the day where everything can happen. We also have Track and Field coming up this Thursday. Parents, free up your daily planner and make room for us. They always need volunteers and we always enjoy having you around and cheering your kids on!. That is all for now, Ton prof, signing out! Today... we were blessed with some good music. Before I explain, today's picture is about how fabulous the kids are. Coming back from outside after lunch, I happened to be on the phone so the kids all came in stealthily and started reading for D.E.A.R. Only Michael was busy doing something else there at the back... we are not sure what :) Beautiful, merci les enfants, rock on! Now the music... allow me to explain. First, we sang together in the gym during our weekly Assembly. By the way, Kaylea & Andre each got a star this week. Please go to our home page to find out why. Then, we corrected our Ladder to the Sun song from last week's quiz. We sang it together. Then, the kids had music where they sang some more. Back from their music class, Kris comes to see me while kids are stealthily working on their maths and says -'M. Beaulieu, can I hum some elevator music for the class?'. I said yes and Kris was very good in the sense that the music was very... how should I put it... elevator like:) Finally, Kaelix just busted out some boom box beats while working away. That was a camera moment but I missed it. He realized later that he was doing it and the whole class chuckled as they thought it was pretty endearing too. Way to style it Kaelix!!! Only two Mondays left to blog about... Unbelievable if you ask me. Mme. Franz had a great idea for our last art class. Check your inbox parents I dropped you a message about it. Also parents, keep a close eye on the calendar as there are lots of things happening. This week is a short week... time is running out... Ton prof, signing out! Today's pic is all about saying thank you to the parents who accompanied us to the History in the Hills. We hope to see you again for our next outings and baseball games. Well, today we did our last vocab quiz... ever!!! Our song is from Cold Play. Ladder to the sun! It must be our best rock out song of the year. Now, we will break it down and talk about the lyrics again tomorrow. It is funny that has your life change, even on a micro level, your interpretation of song lyrics/things etc. change. Kids always come up with different conclusions and theories, it is to talk and share about stuff like that. We presented a few other stories and worked hard in other subjects as well. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon. Maybe we'll have time to sneak in a quick game tomorrow after the Leisure Center or perhaps we will be too tired? What do you figure les enfants? Only two more full weeks and then Sayonara! Amazing... time just flies when you are having fun. I am alright working on our year end video montage. I am debating among a few inspiring French songs... I am not sure which one I will use but it will be fantastic compilation of our year together nonetheless. Each student will get a DVD with this video along with all the pictures and videos I took during the course of our year together. Hopefully, you guard this keepsake dearly and watch it in 20 years from now and look back on your grade 4/5 with a big smile on your face. What are the three words Monsieur Beaulieu hopes you will never forget les enfants? Ton prof, signing out! |
