We had a period where we used the laptops to work on different French topics today while the choir was away. One of them being les verbes pronominaux. We had a pacte where whoever got 90% or more using all the 98 questions, would get some kind of small present (usually raw chocolate cookies from CocoLoco)... Today, we had fierce competition and we now have six, no less, happy winners... Cassandra, Kaylea and Zackary got 99% for gold (yes, three way tie). Then, Nicolas & Evan got 98% for silver and James 95% for bronze! Well done les amis!!! Rock on!! M. Beaulieu loves to see your enthusiasm and grit when there is raw chocolate on the line. I can't blame you... the cookies are just to die for!!!
You can also see that Evan had a solid day today. He also got 'diamant' in our math competition pyramid today. Way to be young Skywalker!!!
Baseball.. We have been learning a new rule pretty much every time we have played baseball so far. Kids are really good at connecting and getting better at knowing where to throw the ball as sometimes runners don't have to run. Forced play vs non forced play can throw off the best of us at times...
I always give a choice to grade 4s as to whether they want an overhand or underhand throw and they now pretty much all pick the overhand throw. Erin looks at me with her 'bring it on' cute little eyes. They are not afraid of my fast ball, fork ball, knuckle-header ball, submarine ball, change up 3 times before the plate ball or even my secret Jedi aspirin ball... Confident they are. Way to be les enfants!!!
The sunflower spitting you ask... yes they have mastered that already :)
