Well, another busy day in the land of the grade 4 and 5 classroom. We are getting close to finishing all our letters to save the rhinos in South Africa who are getting mutilated by having their horn cut off and sold on the black market. We shall have an envelope full of those letters and send it to the South African president Jacob Zuma. Go here for more info http://www.takepart.com/article/2012/12/17/kid-activists-fight-rhinos
We had Jessica from Safety City come in today and talk about all sorts of bullying. The kids like Safety City topics and we had some fantastic discussions and interactions. Kids also like the fact that Jessica and Laura (the lady who came last time) use Prezi. As you know, we got to know how to use Prezi and leave Power Point behind. We share expertise with Safety City:) On est fort!!!
We had our 3rd pyramid multiplication frenzy competition/tournament this morning. Ask your kid about it and how it works. Today we got close to the finish line. You can see the winners displaying their position with pride. We are going to try to have this little session more often. It is fun and educational and you can feel the tension building as participants get eliminated.
Kids are off tomorrow while we have to be at school even earlier than usual. At least, we are suppose to get a small breakfast treat (double chocolate doughnuts please!)... Make a good weekend les enfants, have fun and rest. Do cheer for our Habs too les amis... we need it right now, 3 losses in a row... you know... It is all under control though. Why such a confident remark you ask, simply because I was talking to head coach Michel Therrien last night. We and he was saying that they just wanted to keep the standing tighter and that they would turn it right on as soon as the playoffs start since we clinched a playoff spot last week...
Ton prof, signing out!
